Lasia spinosa : A tuber in Simlipal biosphere reserve forest, Odisha.


Lasia spinosa L. belongs to family areaceae , ia a aquatic marchy plant with a creeping rhizome, usually grows surrounding mountain river of Simlipal Biosphere reserve forest, Odisha..


Medicinal Value :-
  •  Stem- boil and bath to relieve itching.
  • Leaves - Relief of abdominal pain.
  • Rhizome - Possessed a wide-ranging antioxidant activity.
  • Anticestodal activity.
  • Rhizome and leaf possess expectorant properties.
  • the roots are boiled and the water to bath new born babies.
  • Plants are used as anthelmintics (Tangpu et al,2004)
